Mattoon Pride Girls Softball is a non-profit youth sports organization dedicated to teaching softball fundamentals and life skills while emphasizing good sportsmanship, leadership, peer and parent communication through positive coaching.  As a part of Mattoon and the surrounding communities for over 23 years, Mattoon Pride strives to contribute to our youth by providing the best athletic environment for young athletes and their families.  These objectives guide the process of winning – they are not the product of winning.  It is our goal to prepare girls to learn and play the game of softball in a fun, healthy and safe environment.  We emphasize the importance of respect for parents, teammates, opponents, coaches and officials.  We not only strive to teach game skills, but life skills, as well as building lasting relationships with good friends while helping young athletes be the best they can be.  We want every player’s experience to lead them back year-after-year to Mattoon Pride.

Founded in 1993, the Pride has grown into one of the top softball organizations in downstate Illinois, arming hundreds of young women with the skills to grow both as softball players and teammates.  The organization has enjoyed several national and state championships and has helped many players earn scholarships and achieve their goal of playing softball at the collegiate level.  The Pride’s Board of Directors governs the organization and instills a consistent philosophy that is shared and implemented by all coaches.  The board’s decisions and this commitment to excellence and integrity guide the organization’s success.
